MRI Scan (magnetic resonance imaging) – this is a new procedure, which uses magnetic and radio waves, and the patient is not exposed to X-ray radiation or harmful radiation.
MRI scanner takes pictures of almost all tissues of the human body.
This procedure is particularly useful for detection of benign or malignant tumors in the study of the brain and spinal cord.
It allows you to record MRI heart defects, as well as changes in the thickness of the muscle around the heart after myocardial infarction.
Also, this procedure can be used to investigate the joints of the spine, the soft parts of the body such as the liver, kidneys and spleen.
MRI scan is indicated in patients with neurological symptoms: persistent headaches, stroke, brain tumor, as well as patients with diseases: disc herniation, spinal tumor, brain injury, back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, chronic arthritis, aseptic necrosis.
MRI scan differs from computed tomography (CT) so that it in more detail, a still image at any angle from horizontal image contrast at RT, clearer images.
